Capilla de la Hacienda de Chacabuco – Ornamentation

Chapel ornamentation is rather simple and moderate. Outside, colors such as golden yellow with colonial red stand out. Inside, white walls contrast with brown roof-toppings on a blue background and ceramic floor.

Since there is only one nave, there are not devotional altars, but it does have some images on each side, such as the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Immaculate Conception and a Saint Teresa of the Andes carved in wood, among others. Besides, along the walls, there are small-sized pictures with imagery related to the Stations of the Cross.

Main Altar reredos is one of the largest pieces of the chapel, embedded in a gap delineated by a big semicircular arch and built covering the whole area. It stands out by the dark color of wood and some details painted in golden shades. It is crowned with a triangular pediment, according to which the space is built; for example, roof-toppings take the form of the pediment. There are two accesses to the sacristy (located behind the reredos), topped with figures of Saint Joseph on one side and the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the other side. At the center, on a red background, a figure of Christ on the Cross is displayed.
