According to historical records, the chapel inside Chacabuco estate dates back to 18th century. There is not information about the architect who built it. Some sources say that baroque elements of its façade had been introduced in the period when the estate belonged to the saltpeter businessman Francisco Petrinovic.
Chapel is rectangular in shape, with a single nave, lit by semicircular arched windows located in modular fashion among pilasters along the nave.
It has a gabled roof with clay tiles in the outside and an exposed ceiling in the inside, so roof-toppings are visible, which are very important in the indoor design. Choir is entirely of wood and lit by a bull’s eye shaped as a four-leaf clover.
Structure has been reinforced in the outside with abutments, and on right-hand side a tower crowned with an octagonal bulbous spire is located.
